The Sri Lanka Freedom Party will ink five agreements with the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna today (Oct 14) to establish five committees, SLFP Acting Chairman Rohana Lakshman Piyadasa said.
Mr. Piyadasa stated that these committees will include one each to decide the manifesto, and economic policy of the proposed alliance between both parties.
Other committees would be formed to decide on the presidential election campaign of SLPP candidate Gotabhaya Rajapaksa, and matters concerning the upcoming parliamentary election.
The SLFP and the SLPP will contest under the common symbol of a Chair at next year’s Parliamentary poll.
Meanwhile, the SLFP Acting Chairman stated that his party would sign an agreement with Rajapaksa next week.
