The registration of private medical graduates with the Sri Lanka Medical Council will take place from August 16, the Health Ministry said today (Aug 14).
Around 1300 graduates are expected to receive appointments at government hospitals, Health Services Deputy Director General Dr Lal Panapitiya said.
These appointments would be granted two weeks after registering with the SLMC, he added.
Last month, the Supreme Court instructed the SLMC to register students who have completed medical degrees in recognized foreign universities and also passed the SLMC examination.
