The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) will deploy 600 buses to operate across five areas in the country as a part of the special transport arrangements in line with the Poson festival.
These buses will operate across the Anuradhapura, Colombo, Kandy, and the North-Western areas from June 14 - 18, the Transport Ministry said.
Additional buses will be deployed by the SLTB if and when required, the Ministry noted in a press release.
According to the Transport Ministry, new routes have been introduced for buses this year. These routes include, Kantale - Seruwawila, Mahiyangana - Elle - Anuradhapura, Anuradhapura - Mihintale, and Anuradhapura - Thanthirimale.
Meanwhile, the Railways Department will also launch a special train service between Anuradhapura and Mihintale from June 14 onwards.
Special trains will also operate between Fort - Anuradhapura, Mahawa - Anuradhapura, and Anuradhapura - Beliatta.
