Soldiers help Kilinochchi farmers prepare for Maha season

Security forces personnel recently joined farmers to help clean up the area around Vavunikulam tank in Kilinochchi in preparation for the coming Maha season. 

About 40,000 farmer families rely on water from the tank to water their paddy fields and about 1000 soldiers joined the farmers to clean the main 20 kilometer canal which transports water from the tank. 

Security Forces Headquarters Kilinochchi organized the initiative to assist the farmers to clean the canal.
