Former Peoples Liberation Front (JVP) Leader Somawansa Amarasinghe commenced a fast at Independence Square today demanding legal action on alleged coup attempt on January 9 when the previous regime was defeated at the presidential elections. Recently the former JVP leader announced that he was leaving the party and planning to start a new party since he believes the JVP failed address the real concerns of the people.
