Speaker Karu Jayasuriya to receive special honorary award tomorrow

A special honourary award will be conferred upon Speaker Karu Jayasuriya by the members of the Maha Sanga including the Mahanayake of the Malwatte Chapter tomorrow (Mar 19).

Mr. Jayasuriya was previously awarded the Vishva Keerthishri Lanka Jana Ranjana while the Saratha Darshi Janatha Nayaka was awarded to him by the Sri Lanka Ramanna Maha Nikaya.

The Speaker was also a recipient of the 'Rising Sun' honourary award which was bestowed upon him by Japan.

In addition, he had also received the Vishwa Saama award from India and the ‘Pride of Asia’ award by the Abdul Kalam Institute of Technological Sciences (AKITS).
