Speaker Karu Jayasuirya today warned MPs that he would be forced to take stern action against them if they continue to act in violation of Standing Orders by engaging in unparliamentarily behavior in the House.
He said that MPs should desist from leveling allegations against each other and act in manner that is harmful to the good name of all MPs and Parliament itself.
He said that on Wednesday, when unruly scenes were witnessed in the Chamber, some MPs had made barking notices and should not be repeated.
On Wednesday, there were heated scenes in the house when Minister of Regional Development Sarah Fonseka showed a photograph which he alleged showed a Government Minister in the company of the Chairman of Avant Garde Nissanka Senadipathi.
The Avant Garde head is facing charges of corruption for operating a floating around without due authorization.
