President Maithripala Sirisena today assured in Jaffna that suspects arrested over the rape and killing of an high school girl in Punkudutheevu will be tried in special court.
President Sirisena who is currentlu on a tour to North was greeted by the Chief Minister of the Northern Province C.V.Wigneswaran and Deputy Minister Vijayakala Maheswaran.
President Sirisena made this comment during a meeting with the school community of Vembadi Girls High school, Jaffna.
His visit comes two weeks after an 18 year old school girl was raped and killed followed by unrest in the Jaffna city.
