A special heat advisory has been issued to the Mannar, Vavuniya, Mullaitivu, Trincomalee, Hambantota, and Monaragala districts and the North-Western Province, today (Apr 02).
The meteorology department issuing the heat advisory urged the public to take precautions in order to protect themselves from the heat in those areas.
The department also instructed the people to stay hydrated and take breaks in the shade as much as possible.
