A special meeting is to be held today (Apr 23) to discuss about the future measures regarding the re-opening of schools, Education Minister Akila Viraj Akriyawasam told Times Online.
The second term of national schools which was expected to begin on Monday was delayed by two days following the terrorist attacks which struck Sri Lanka last Sunday.
The government had declared yesterday and today as holidays for schools after having taken the situation of the country into consideration.
However, Minister Kariyawasam noted that Education Ministry officials will meet today in order to decide on whether schools would be re-opened tomorrow or not.
