Four spill gates of the Victoria Reservoir have been opened today (06) due to heavy rains that were experienced in the Central Province today.
Moreover, the spill gates of 16 other reservoirs including the Mahakandarawa, Parakrama Samudraya, Tabbowa, and Deduru Oya reservoirs were also opened today (06), the Irrigation Department said.
Meanwhile, the Meteorology Department issued a weather advisory stating that heavy rainfalls about 100-150 mm can be expected in the North, North Central, Eastern, Uva, North-Western and Central provinces.
