The Sri Lanka Tourism Promotion Bureau (SLTPB) currently functioning without key appointments like a Chairman and Managing Director has now been given a temporary relief.
Director- Public Relations Dushantha Wickramasuriya has been appointed as the bureau's Acting Managing Director since last week by the newly appointed Tourism Ministry Secretary S. Hettiarachchi.
The former Managing Director of the Bureau was Sutheash Balasubramaniam whose contract ended on November 1.
Mr. Wickramasuriya told the Business Times that currently they were carrying out the functions of the bureau and were looking at the possibility of continuing operations with necessary approvals obtained from the Ministry Secretary. (SD)
