Sri Lanka Telecom and Mobitel, together with the Ministry of Telecommunication and Digital Infrastructure launched the Digital Roadmap for the Northern Province this week under the patronage of Governor of Northern Province Dr. Suren Raghavan at the auditorium of Jaffna District Secretariat. The purpose of the Roadmap is to achieve the national goal of transforming the Northern Province into a digitally empowered region.
This Digital Roadmap is a large scale ICT infrastructure development project which is planned to be implemented under the pillars of Smart Security, Smart Government, Smart Health, Smart Building, Smart Utilities, Smart Environment, Smart Transportation & Mobility, Smart Agriculture, Smart Money, Smart Education, Smart Workforce and Smart Infrastructure.
Sri Lanka Telecom and Mobitel Telecommunication Officers briefed on the Roadmap to the Secretaries of the Northern Province, Secretaries to the Ministries, Heads of Departments, Divisional Secretaries and Grama Niladharis.
Governor pointed out that digitalization is the best way to recover the lost in our war-torn country. We now have the opportunity and we will never miss it.
Government Agent of Jaffna District, Secretary to the Governor, Chief Secretary of Northern Province A.Pathinathan, Chairman of SLT Group P.G.Kumarasingha, Chief Official of Mobitel Nalin Perara and other relevant officials also participated on this occasion.
