Sri Lanka’s recently retired chief justice, K. Sripavan has been appointed an independent director at Commercial Bank with effect from April 26, the bank said on Wednesday.
This is not the only occasion when a former chief justice has served on the bank board. Victor Tennekoon, Sri Lanka’s chief justice in the later 1970s, served in the 1980s as deputy chairman of the Commercial Bank. –ENDS -
