Athletes who participated at the 13th South Asian Games arrived back in the country last evening (Dec 11).
Officials of the Ministry of Sports and relatives of the athletes were present at the arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport.
The team arrived on SriLankan Airlines flight on UL 4182 at around 10.20 pm yesterday.
The Sri Lankan team performed exceedingly well at the tournament bringing 251 medals including 40 gold medals, 83 silver medals and 128 bronze medals.
Meanwhile two athletes were hospitalised upon their arrival owing to dengue fever.
