The Ex- Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of SriLankan Airlines Kapila Chandrasena and his wife Priyanka Niyomali Wijenayake who were in remand over allegations of money laundering in the re-fleet deal between SriLankan Airlines and Airbus have been granted bail by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake today.
Earlier this month, former SriLankan Airlines CEO Kapila Chandrasena and wife Priyanka Wijeynayaka were re-remanded by Colombo Fort Magistrate Ranga Dissanayake while imposing travel ban on businessman Nimal Perera.

Chandrasena and his wife are facing charges of money laundering in the SriLankan Airlines – Airbus re-fleet deal, which involved a bribe of US$ 02 million for the purchasing of 10 aircraft from Airbus.
