Stay order preventing action on Gota further extended

The Court of Appeal today extended the stay order it had earlier issued preventing legal action being initiated against former Defence Secretary Gotabaya Rajapaksa under the Public Property Act. 

Accordingly, the stay order was extended till December 15. 

The former Defence Secretary had filed a writ petition before the Appeals Court seeking an order to prevent the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID) from taking action against him under the Public Property Act regarding alleged misappropriation of public funds during construction of the D.A. Rajapaksa Memorial Museum.
