A member of a criminal gang known as 'Kabali' operating in the Mulltivu area has been arrested by the Special Task Force (STF).
The gang is similar to the so-called 'Ava Group' that is operating in parts of the north, according to the STF.
The 31-year-old suspect was arrested yesterday (23) by officers from the Mulltivu STF Camp along with 17 miligrams of heroin and several sharp weapons including a kris knife.
A motorbike belonging to the suspect was also seized along with a mobile phone.
The suspect has been handed over to the Puthukudirippu Police for further investigations.
