Special Task Force (STF) Senior DIG M R Latiff will be retiring from his 41-year service, tomorrow (Feb 05).
Over the last two years, DIG Latiff served as the commandant of the STF. He also led the STF in enforcing the law against drug peddlers and organised criminals in the recent past.
Under his leadership, around 798 kilograms of heroin have been seized druing the past six months alone.
Two of the largest drug busts which were carried out in Kollupitiya and Dehiwela were also carried out under his direction.
The raid in Beruwala which saw 231 kilograms of heroin being nabbed in Beruwala was also led by the retiring DIG Latiff.
