Three suspects including an associate of underworld leader 'Ratmalane Anju' were arrested with heroin worth Rs 1 million in Kothalawalapura, Ratmalana yesterday (Mar 29).
The arrest was carried out by a team of 12 Special Task Force (STF) personnel at 2:25 pm following a tip-off received regarding the whereabouts of the suspects, an STF source told Times Online.
The associate of 'Ratmalane Anju' has been identified as 33-year old U.R Gihan Rukmal alias 'Gihan' and a resident of Ratmalana. The other two suspects have been identified as 21 year old residents of the same area.
STF personnel had seized 100.9 grams of heroin along with a scale, the source noted adding that the suspects have been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau for further investigations.
