A group of women in Kilinochchi today came out to perform street dramas to educate children and women on issues of sexual abuse and drugs.
They educated the public on issues faces by women and children after they resettled in the Kilinochchi area post conflict.
The street dramas were performed in the Ramanathapuram area of Kilinochchi.
The drama groups focused on issues faced by women including domestic violence, demand for sexual bribes, harassment for women and various abuses faced by children in addition to drug abuse which is spreading in the area.
The group also distributed hand bills to educate the public on the issue.
