The Meteorological Department issuing a weather report today said that strong gusty winds can be expected in the North-central and Uva provinces and in Hambanthota districts.
The report also noted showers or thundershowers will occur in the Central, North Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces and also in Kaluthara, Galle and Matara districts.
The Met. Dept also predicts that showers or thundershowers may occur at a few places in Ampara and Batticaloa districts after 2.00 p.m.
The report also requsts the general public to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
