A JVP MP for the first time will head the Committee on Public Enterprises (COPE). JVP National List MP Sunil Handunnetti was chosen as the Chairman of COPE today.
The Public Account Committee (PAC) will be headed by UPFA MP Lasantha Aalagiyawanna. It is after nine years an opposition MP was appointed to the Chairman post of the COPE. The last opposition MP who chaired the COPE was Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe.
