Susil challenges UNP to form a Government
Minister of Science, Technology and Research and United People's Freedom Alliance (UPFA) MP Susil Premajayantha today insisted that he and others will work to form a broad alliance which would showcase the people's mandate.
The Minister, who is one of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) MPs from the Government who is tipped to vote in support of the No-Confidence Motion (NCM) against the PM, further claimed that the bond scam occurred during the period of the 100-day Government formed immediately after the last Presidential Election, pointing out that the SLFP was not part of that Government.
He challenged the United National Party (UNP) to form its own Government, stating that that was what they really wanted.
He questioned as to who brought down Arjuna Mahendran and appointed him Governor of Central Bank and who allowed him to travel abroad after the scam.
The Minister also said if people like him also left, that would be the end of the SLFP.
