The Swiss Embassy staffer, who was allegedly involved in an abduction case, and is currently in remand custody has been taken back to the National Institute of Mental Health in Angoda this morning (Dec 19).
According to reports Ms Ganiya Bannister Francis, is to be presented to a specialist psychiatric board for a medical evaluation.
The Criminal Investigation Department arrested and produced Ms Francis before the Colombo Chief Magistrate’s Court on the directions of the Attorney General, earlier on (Dec 16).
The Attorney General advised the Director of the CID to arrest and produce the relevant staffer at the courts over two charges.
The employee has been named a suspect for cause of exciting disaffection against the Government and fabricating false evidence to be used in a future judicial proceeding.
