Technical fault behind countrywide power cut

The Ceylon Electricity Board is attributing  four hour long countrywide power-failure at dawn on Monday to a technical flaw, local media reported. This is the first countrywide power failure to be experienced in five years. A countrywide power failure was experienced at about 11:53 last night and the power supply was gradually restored from at 2 .am. on Monday General Secretary of the CEB Jathika Sewaka Sangamaya Ranjan Jayalal told local media  that there are three 300 megawatt power stations at the Norochcholai Thermal Power Plant and the first power station has been under repairs for about 100 days now.
