The temporary ban on duty-free vehicle permits are to be lifted from May 1 onwards, Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera said today (Mar 12).
He made this remark in response to a question raised in Parliament during the debate on the second reading of the budget.
Mr. Samaraweera said that the issuance of these permits to public servants would re-commence due to the strengthening of the rupee.
