Former Ceylon Workers’ Congress (CWC) General Secretary, the Late Arumugam Thondaman’s ancestral home at Venton Estate in Kothmale was under fire early this morning. Belongings of the house, including several millions worth antique items have been completely destroyed in the fire.
Nuwara Eliya fire fighters rushed to the area and doused the fire after several hours. Cause of the fire is yet to be established. Kothmale police is conducting investigations. (PCK)
