Three family members including the wife of an ex-Ports Authority employee resident in Kerawalapitiya, Wattala have been arrested over suspicion of killing him, Police said.
The family members had claimed that the man identified as Hettithanthirige Walton, 65 had illegally migrated to Australia, but neighbours had petitioned the police that they suspect that the man had been killed.
Police said the wife of the man, their adopted daughter and her husband are being questioned over the disappearance of the man.
Police have obtained a court order to search the house and vicinity tomorrow. The place has been placed under police guard.
Neighbours suspect that the body may have been disposed in the garden, but police is yet to confirm the claims.
