Three suspects who had smuggled hashish worth Rs 780,000 from Italy have been arrested in Kochcikade today (Mar 01).
Police said that the suspects had concealed the contraband inside an electrical appliance and had smuggled it via air courier.
A television, an electric oven, and five mobile phones were seized at the time of the arrest, police said adding that the narcotic weighed 600 grams.
The suspects have been identified as residents of Minuwangoda, Horana, and Munamaldeniya areas.
They are due to be produced before the Meegamuwa Magistrates Court today.
