Three faculties of the Kelaniya University which were closed temporarily this week will re-open on Monday, the University's management announced today (May 31).
Earlier this week the University announced that it was temporarily shutting down all its faculties except for the Medical Faculty owing to certain objections raised by students on some security measures.
However, the Science, Commerce and Management, and the Computing and Technology faculties will re-open for academic activities on Monday, Senior Lecturer Wijayananda Rupasinghe said.
He noted that the students of the three faculties had expressed approval over the latest security arrangements which were in place within the university.
Mr. Rupasinghe added that the re-opening dates of the Humanities and Social Sciences faculties are yet to be decided since the students of these faculties have not agreed upon the security measures so far.
