Three flights set to depart from Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake today (Nov 9), were delayed after a power failure this morning.
Saudi Arabian Airlines flight SV - 786, Qatar Airways flight QR - 665, and Thailand's Lion Air flight SL - 231, had experienced delays, airport officials said.
The power cut had reportedly taken place after the BIA's generators had malfunctioned between 8:50 am and 9:20 am.
Electricity supply to the Katunayake - Colombo Highway too had been suspended during that time.
