Three members of the banned Jamathei Millathu Ibrahim (JMI) group have been arrested in Ampara today (Aug 15), police spokesman Ruwan Gunasekara said.
He noted that the suspects had been taken into custody upon information received by the State Intelligence Service.
They are believed to have received firearms training Easter Sunday terrorist attacks mastermind Mohamed Zahran in Hambantota and Nuwara Eliya.
Following today's arrest, 15 suspects have been arrested in connection with the JMI since the beginning of this month.
