Three shops have been completely destroyed due to a fire in Deraniyagala yesterday (Aug 19).
The fire had erupted at around 7:45 pm, police said.
Firemen attached to the Deraniyagala Fire Service Unit had doused the fire with the assistance of area residents.
Customs have detected 228 mobile phones and tabs valued at over Rs 30 million left behind in the duty free shopping complex at the Banaranaike International Airport today, Customs officials said.
