Three suspects who attempted to assassinate former Jaffna High Court Judge Manikkavasagar Illancheriyan were granted bail by the Jaffna High Court today.
The verdict was issued by High Court Judge Annalingam Premachandran earlier today.
The three suspects were arrested when they attempted to assassinate Mr. Illancheriyan by opening fire at him near the Jaffna Nallur Kovil on June 22, 2017.
One police office was killed in the shooting incident.
The suspects who were remanded for 16 months were released on a conditional bail of Rs 200,000 and two surety bails of Rs 500,000 each.
