The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) which called for the postponement of General Elections due to possible spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) in the country welcomed the decision by Election Commission to postpone the polls until further notice. The General Election was scheduled to be held on April 25.
“We welcome the decision of the @ECSriLanka to postpone #GenElecSL 2020 in light of #COVID19 crisis #lka.” a tweet from TNA’s official Twitter handle said.
Early this week, TNA called on the government for the postponement of polls saying that “the safety of the public is our paramount concern,”
