The Railways Department will begin the transportation of flour from China Bay, Trincomalee to Seeduwa from next week, in an attempt to boost its contribution towards the freight transport sector.
This was after the Department had inked an agreement with Prima Wheat Flour Company.
Railways General Manager Dilantha Fernando said that 20 rail containers and 30 oil tankers would be used to transport cargo and oil through trains in the country from next week.
He added that 15 goods wagons also arrived in the country today (Dec 23).
