The transportation of ballot boxes will begin today to the polling booths for tomorrow's Elpitiya Pradeshiya Sabha election.
Galle District Returning Officer Somarathna Vidanapathirana said these boxes would be transported from the Vocational Training Institue in Elpitiya amid tight security.
The National Election Commission said that 53,384 individuals have gained eligibility to cast their vote at the poll. Voting will take place at 47 polling centres located across 17 electoral districts.
Five recognised political parties will field 155 candidates for the election seeking to occupy the 28 seats in the Pradeshiya Sabha.
