All leisure trips, pilgrimages and tours have been banned with immediate effect, the Presidential Secretariat stated.
The move has been taken as part of measures to prevent the spread of COVID-19 in the country.
The Government has also urged the public to maintain a minimum distance of at least 1 metre from each other in public places to minimise the risk of infection.
The President's Office further urges the public to also practice this level of social distancing when using buses and trains. In order to ensure such social distancing, it adds that the number of passengers transported in buses and trains should be half that of their passenger capacity.
The release also states that the Government has issued adequate stocks of essential food items and other goods to Sathosa and Cooperative stores. These shops have also been told to issue these stocks to the public without inconveniencing them.
The public will be notified on Sunday (22) on when the curfew will be re-imposed after it is lifted at 6.00am on Monday (23).
