Troops assist to rescue victims at Ahangama building collapse

Army troops were rushed to Ahangama, yesterday to rescue people trapped inside a collapsed building. Troops of the 16 (V) Gemunu Watch (GW) serving under the 58 Division of the Security Force Headquarters were dispatched at mid-day on Monday to Ahangama where a five storied building still under construction had collapsed injuring more than 8 people.

Army troops assisted by Air Force and Police personnel and local residents are conducting rescue and evacuation operations.
