Twelve Indian fishermen who were engaging poaching activities within Sri Lankan territorial waters of 12.7 nautical miles South West of Delft in Jaffna arrested, navy said. Two of their mechanized trawlers also seized.
The arrested fishermen along with their trawlers and fishing gears to Naval bases in Karainagar and Kankesanthurei. They were handed over to the Assistant Fisheries Director in Jaffna for onward legal action.
