Two arrested for running fake kachcheri

The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has busted a racket involving a fake kachcheri in Ragama and arrested two suspects.

According to Police Media Unit, the suspects were arrested last night (24) with a large collection of forged driving licenses, official seals, temporary driving licenses, motor vehicle registration forms, letterheads belonging to various institutions, postal identity cards and license plates. 

The suspects, aged 51 and 52 years, are residents of Ragama. One is a retired driver of the Kelaniya Divisional Secretariat while the other is a retired army soldier. 

The suspects are due to be produced before the Mahara Magistrate's Court and the CID is conducting further investigations.
