Three suspects were arrested for engaging in gem mining sans a valid permit in Bogawantalwa last night, police said.
The arrest took place following a tip-off received by Bogawantalawa police regarding a racket which was operating in the Theresia estate area.
The suspects have been identified as 18 and 21-year old residents of Bogawantalawa.
They have been released on police bail and are due to be produced before the Hatton Magistrates Court on March 05.
Further investigations continue.
