Two people have been killed following the collapse of an elevator at a building currently under construction at Dharmashoka Mawatha in Kandy this morning.
The victims were construction workers working on the building. The elevator had collapsed while the workmen were transporting bags of cement using it.
The victims, aged 54 and 57 years, are residents of Katugastota and Kandy. The bodies are currently lying at the Kandy hospital. Kandy police are investigating.
