Two individuals sustained injuries when two unidentified men, who had arrived in a motorcyle wearing a full-face helmet, opened fire at them in Rotumba.
The victims are now receiving treatment at the Mavarala and Matara hospitals, police said.
Mavarala police are conducting further investigations into the incident.
