Two persons were killed on the spot when a private bus plying from Katunayaka to Kandy and a three wheeler collided head-on at Nittambuwa this morning on the Kandy-Colombo road.
The victims, the three wheeler driver and the passenger were identified as Nihal Kumara (37) and Prasanna Kumara (33), both residents of Galenbidunuwewa, the police said.
Police investigations have revealed that the bus has been travelling at high speed at the time of the accident. The driver of the bus has been taken into custody and further investigations are being carried out by the NIttambuwa Police.
