Two-minutes of silence was observed for the victims of the 2004 Tsunami from 9:25 - 9:27 am in the country today (Dec 26).
The tsunami, which followed a 9.0 magnitude earthquake in Indonesia's Sumatra Islands, claimed the lives of more than 30,000 individuals and left more than 5000 missing.
The Disaster Management Centre said that memorial events have been organised across the country today.
