Two individuals have been arrested with 360 illegal foreign cigarettes in separate raids carried out in Norochcholai yesterday (Oct 7).
Police said the suspects had been nabbed with 200 and 160 cigarette sticks respectively.
The arrest had been carried out by Special Task Force officers attached to the Puttalam Camp.
Investigations have shown that the cigarettes had been smuggled into the country and had been kept for sale.
Further investigations are underway.
