Two pistols have been reported missing from the Agarapatana sub-police station in Nuwara Eliya since last month, police sources told Times Online.
The weapons were found to be missing upon inspection of the police log book which is used to record the items that have been obtained and returned to the police station.
However, the weapons which were recorded in the log book for February, the source said, had been stolen last month.
Accordingly, a special investigation is being carried out on the police officers attached to the police station in order to locate the missing weapons.
