Two police officers who had aided and abetted an illegal excavation operation at an archaelogical site in Kaldamulla have been remanded until April 01.
The order to remand the suspects was issued when they were produced before Vavuniya Magistrate Thashmin Foushan today (Mar 19).
Meanwhile, the Magistrate had also called for an archaeological report on the location in which the excavation was being carried out.
The police officers were instructed to be produced before courts during the next hearing along with five other suspects who were arrested over the incident.
